Algae Centre of
Renewable Energy
The Undergraduate studies final major design project was an Algae Centre of Renewable energy, Algaerithm, which essentially is a science centre consisting of various laboratories that develop a new alternative green energy production method using algae (a simple photosynthetic plant growing in the water). However, the centre is also visitor friendly and open for the public to educate, rise awareness and involve people into the process. The bigger aim of the project is to reduce the need for the fossil fuel power plants, the biggest CO2 emitters by human sources in the world.
Climbing Centre
Tea House
The major design project of the second year undergraduate studies was a Tea Tree Climbing, an indoor climbing centre with a herbal tea house on top. The climbing is happening not on the walls, but on the real life trees that are growing on the site and the herbal tea, for the tea house, is all grown, dried, mixed and stored on the site. The project encourages active lifestyle and green living through innovative and sustainable design.
Move more
+ Herbal tea
The Urban Intervention was a mini project prior to the major Tea Tree Climbing Centre project to test the concept in a smaller scale first. The aim was to design a space that would become a part of peoples’s everyday life and increase body movement and encourage active living. At the same time it would be a little oasis in the middle of the City with a green fresh air environment, which is produced by numerous different herbal tea plants.
